Turtle Rescue!

A loggerhead turtle that was rescued by Mozambique police from illegal fishermen was released back into the ocean with the help of local dive operator, Peri-Peri Divers.

This remarkable event was covered by Sangue Bom Productions and was aired on national television! During its release, divers from Peri-Peri and Sangue Bom spent an hour with the turtle before it swam off. Loggerheads are considered an endangered species and are protected by the International Union for the Conservation of Nature. It is also illegal to capture a loggerhead in Mozambique.
